Recently my dad was telling me about his new favorite coffee drink from a popular fast food chain. He wanted my opinion on the drink and to make sure it wasn’t “that bad” for him.
In case you don’t know, like my dad, the majority of restaurants have their nutritional information online so you can determine if the meal or beverage really is that “bad” for you. So right away I went online to look up the nutritional information on his favorite drink. Much to my alarm I found out that his new favorite drink reached over 600 calories! Over 600 calories is more than a meal and yes it really is that bad for him. Ideally a meal should provide somewhere between 350 and 500 calories, depending on how active you are.
After my initial shock wore off I decided to investigate the caloric content of other popular drinks. Here are some of the worst picks I found along with better picks for a healthier alternative:

Short and small black coffee, cappuccino with nonfat milk, and unsweetened tea are always great options as well.
Please take advantage of the online nutritional information and check before you order. Not only because excess calories cause weight gain but because you deserve to give your body the healthiest choice.
