When the recipe calls for half a lemon juiced, does that mean I shouldn’t use the lemon juice because it will make the smoothie too sour?

  3. No – I have half a lemon juiced instead of lemon juice because juice fresh from the fruit is always tastier and often times healthier than juice bought from the store. For instance, most store bought lemon juices contain extra ingredients such as sodium benzoate, sodium metabisulfite, and sodium sulfite – which are food additives and preservatives. I am only interested in the actual juice of a lemon and therefore list it as such. Just so you know 1/2 lemon juiced generally yields about 1-2 tablespoons of juice. Hope that answers your questions!
